Confusion; Misunderstanding; Doubt; How can my cancer be “good for me? How can any cancer be considered “good”?
Dear God, so often I hear Christians say You are working for our good. Yet, right now, I don’t feel You are working for my good. Help me realize that Your promise is a narrow promise to those who are the called. Help me be one of the called! Help me remember what I face today does not change the eternal Word of God. Help me come to not only understand Your promises but also believe in it. While I might not fully understand how this cancer is “working for the good” I do know it has intensified my communication and relationship with You. For as I accept and live your promise, I will find peace, hope and (yes) even joy that You aew looking after me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him and who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Trust in the Lord will al your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:4-7)
