You or a loved one has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer!
In the span of 5 seconds your entire life has been turned upside down! Your first reaction is “Why me, Lord? I have always tried to be a good person. I go to church. So why could a loving God do this to me?”
You begin to wonder is there really a God? Is Jesus really the Son of God? The Bible says God works for our good. How can prostate cancer work good? You are angry!
You are also anxious! The fear of premature death causes your heart to pound in your throat! You worry about the pain associated with cancer and cancer treatments. You worry about the financial implications to you and your family during cancer treatments and possibly after death.
You are confused! There are important decisions to be made. Which kind of treatments? Which doctor? Which hospital? There is so much information to research. You are receiving advice from so many people. Yet whom do you believe? Who should you trust? How do you absorb all this information and advice?
You fear the future! Even if your treatments do eliminate or slow down the process of cancer, you worry about the side effects. You ask yourself- will the quality of my life be negatively changed hereafter.
You feel hypocritical! You know from the Bible that you should have faith and trust in God; and prior to learning of your cancer, “you talked the talk.” Yet now you are having a difficult time “walking the walk”!
It all feels so overwhelming! So many questions! So many conflicting feelings.
Yet in the midst of this storm- this horrendous new journey- you reach deep down into your soul and realize you can get help from a higher source. While your “foundation” has been “rocked” you instinctly know that Jesus and the Bible will be with you in this life changing process. So your commit to the process in the way the Lord prescribed: PRAYER!
Through Prayer you will communicate with God and he will communicate with you; and the result will be clarity and peace that “passes all understanding”!
