Feeling and Questions
Doubt. Confusion. Anger. Does God REALLY exist? How do I know for sure? Why would a loving God allow me to get cancer?
Devotion
Dear God, during this time of my cancer crisis, I pray that you will reduce my doubts about your existence. While I recognize that faith is believing in that which can not be proved, I am like Thomas. I want to know for sure! So help me in this time of doubt; confusion; and yes, even some anger, to grow my faith. Help me take notice that for over 2000 years Christianity has survived attacks from many pagan sources; and that there is overwhelming direct and indirect evidence that Christ lived, died and rose from the dead! Strengthen my faith, dear Lord, to conclude that his resurrection proved He was the Son of God and our eternal Savior. Help me become one of the “more blessed” that believe even though they have not seen! So as I deal with my cancer, let me be comforted to know that I do have someone to turn to; that I am not alone; that you are with me every step of the way of this unexpected journey. In Christ I pray. Amen
